Michael’s Blog I December

Rev. Michael Kinard   -

Hey Forever Young and Friends,

A few activities to be aware of:

December 5, Christmas Celebration with Jason Lovings Band. If you signed up before November 21st and you want a ride from the church down to Bleckley Station, the buses will run from 9:00 AM till 10:00 AM prior to the 10:30 AM start time. And later that afternoon the bus will run from 4:30 PM till 5:30 PM prior to the evening celebration start time at 6:00 PM. The buses will run after the events until the last person is returned to the church.

Also, Christmas at Concord will be Sunday, December 10 at 6:30 PM and Monday, December 11 at 7:00 PM. Invite someone to come with you on either or both nights.

The Handbell Choir will share their Christmas music on December 13 at 7:00 PM in the Worship Center.

Watch for January Sign-ups for Forever Young Adventures, etc.

Luke 2:11 “For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the LORD.”

As you just read the scripture above, what comes to mind?

1. Christmas and the meaning of Christmas!

2. A Savior is born—The One— who would take away the penalty of our sin!

3. The Christ—The Messiah— who comes in righteousness and holiness!

4. The LORD— Master of our lives as a Christ-follower. Master— a term not really used today but the idea of our willing submission to the only one worthy, Jesus Christ!

Christmas is just around the corner. We have an opportunity to proclaim Christ to our families and others we encounter. Christmas allows us the opportunity that other times of the year do not.

Christmas is all about Jesus. Merry Christmas!

In Christ, Rev. Michael Kinard
